Maureen O'Hara Biography
Maureen O'Hara, an American actress and singer from Irish heritage was a well-known character. The fiery, passionate characters she played in a myriad of American films were well-loved by the beautiful green-eyed beauty sporting fiery hair and flaming eyes. Her gorgeous look and natural beauty was well-loved. She was known in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her character onscreen was a reflection of her strong, brave spirit which fought for recognition and survival in a male-dominated world. She was known as "the tough Irish girl" and would not be willing to sacrifice respect for other people in order to get the roles she was entitled to through merit. Through her long career in the film arena she always spoke out against injustice and improper treatment against female actors. For this, she gained numerous followers. The autobiography 'Tis Herself', written by her which was published in 2004 gave an honest and honest story of her entire experience, including her struggles while climbing the ladder of success. She was an adventurous woman who didn't hesitate to attempt her own stunts. She starred in over 60 films, and was a actor across the world. Following her departure from Parra and getting married, she met Charles F. Blair Jr. in 1968. He was a brigadier, a chief pilot and an innovator in transatlantic aviation. O'Hara retired just a few years after they got married. The joy she felt was only temporary as Blair lost her life in a devastating plane crash in 1978. She was also diagnosed with uterine cancer in the same year, and had an immediate operation. She was able to recover eventually. She was diagnosed with six heart attacks, short-term memories loss and type 2 diabetes in the subsequent years. O'Hara who was 95 years old, peacefully passed away in Boise on October 24, 2015.
