Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora is a British music producer and singer. She was born Rita Sahatciu Ora in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. At the age of one, her family decided to relocate to the United Kingdom. Her birthplace was in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing at an early age. In 2004, she was a part of the British movie Spivs. After a successful audition for Eurovision The Country That needs You (BBC One), she was chosen to represent Britain in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She later pulled out of the competition after a number of episodes, as she felt that the stage was not in good condition. In 2007 Ora got her first music release , when she performed on the track of Craig David titled "Awkward" and later in 2008 with "Where's Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder. she also appeared in the music video. Ora began singing in bars all over London. Roc Nation was alerted by an A&R regarding Ora in 2009, just days following Ora went to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora appeared in Jay-Z's 2009 video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Ora caught the attention of Jay-Z and he quietly signed her to Roc Nation, in which she appeared in a commercial for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. She started singing in the same bar where her father, Besnik, was a pub owner. Counts Gwen Stefani as a major influence in the way she conducts herself as well as her band No Doubt's "Don't speak" (1996) as one of her top songs.Her video from 2016 for Tezenis, The Silk Code, is the title of a novel that received the Locus Award for Best First Science Fiction Novel in 1999.She was considered to play Iris West in Justice League (2017) prior to the time that Kiersey Clemons was cast.
