Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actor, director
actress, musician, and actor who has helmed many episodes of TV which include
The Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire
(2012), among others. Milena was the Co-EP/Producing Director of Dick Wolf's
CBS series FBI (2018) and is currently working on two pilots. Milena was chosen
as one of the eight directors for AFI's highly acclaimed Directing Workshop for
Women. The short film she made and the TV series proof of concept called Unspeakable
which starred Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober, had its World premiere at SXSW
and won the Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival and
Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017
produced by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the US. It won the
award for Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at
Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given at Sedona
International Film Festival. Milena has appeared for more than 100 television
shows. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as
the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis
Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her first appearance on CBS. Then she became
the first and only female detective on Law & Order (1990). K-Ville
(2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and
Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have been a part of her, or
have recurred. Milena was also seen in a variety of films including Sordid
Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011), opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the
Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She also starred opposite Method Man.
Milena is a Norman, Oklahoma native. When she was valedictorian at her high
school, she went to pursue two majors in singing and premed along with minors
in dance and violin at the University of Central Oklahoma. In the following
years she made the most of her ballet education to perform on Broadway in the
production by Rob Marshall and Sam Mendes of "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
